Bears at Chargers: Pick'em Picks for Underdog and ParlayPlay

by Andrew Elmquist | Published: October 27, 2023

Sunday Night Football in Week 8 could be an interesting game. The Chicago Bears are rolling out Tyson Bagent for another start, who is coming off his first career victory. Bagent is filling in for the injured Justin Fields, who still has an unresolved timetable for return.

The Los Angeles Chargers, on the other hand, don’t necessarily have a problem with their quarterback, but their team is in shambles. At 2-4 and third place in the AFC West, nobody expected the Chargers to be in this position.

We’ll see how this game turns out. The Chargers are heavily favored, hoping to get back on track with a win against the struggling Bears. We’ve put together our favorite player props for this matchup with the understanding that the Chargers could take control early. Without any further fanfare, here are our picks that can all be found on Underdog!

Tyson Bagent UNDER 203.5 Passing Yards

As much as we like Bagent’s story, we’re not buying that he’ll have a big week against the Chargers defense. This is his first time appearing in a primetime game, a stage that can hold a lot of pressure for even the most experienced quarterbacks.

He threw 29 times in the Bears’ win over the Las Vegas Raiders last week, which only turned into 162 passing yards. This line seems much too high, we thought it would have been closer to 180 yards, especially considering his performance last week.

While we might be missing something, taking the under on Bagent’s passing yards seems like the move here.

Justin Herbert OVER 264.5 Passing Yards

Justin Herbert has gone through a rollercoaster of a 2023 season. For a guy who entered the year with a brand-new contract, the overall media impression of him has not been good.

With the Chargers having a 2-4 record, Herbert has taken on a lot of the blame for some of the team’s shortcomings. He has put together a few massive performances, including a big, 405-yard passing game against the Minnesota Vikings.

While we don’t expect that he’ll have that large of a performance this week, Herbert is bound to bounce back at some point, and the Bears are a great opponent for him to do that against. Look for a 300+ yard masterclass from Herbert, smashing the over on the set line of 264.5 yards.

Keenan Allen OVER 82.5 Receiving Yards

If we’re expecting Herbert to throw for 300+ yards, he will need to get the ball into the hands of his best playmakers. Keenan Allen has been nothing short of spectacular on the year, especially when Mike Williams has been out due to his season-ending injury.

Allen has three games of more than 100 yards on the year, a trend that looks to continue against the Bears. Their secondary is not what it used to be, and with Williams out, look for Allen to have a field day on Sunday Night Football.
