Best NBA Player Prop Picks for Tuesday, January 23: Look for Joker to Torch Pacers!
The stars are shining midway through the NBA season. While Jokic and Shai have a chance to one-up KAT and Embiid from a night ago, we like Collin Sexton to continue his All-Star caliber play against New Orleans.
Want to make your Tuesday a little more exciting? Let's make some money on the hardwood with our best NBA player prop picks for January 23. Good luck!
C Nikola Jokic (DEN): Triple Double (1.25x)
In Denver’s first meeting with Indiana, Jokic put up 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists in an 8-point victory. However, in comes Pascal Siakam and the Pacers are instantly a title contender.
For Denver to defeat the Pacers for a second straight time in 2024, they will need to score 120 points and no less. This means the Joker will be a key factor in playmaking for his shooters such as Watson, MPJ, and Murray.
We like the over to hit for both Jokic and the betting total.
OG Anunoby (NYK): OVER 21.5 PTS+REB+AST
OG has found a way to contribute in every aspect since joining the Knicks. Averaging over 16 PPG and +13 +/- per outing over his last five, look for the wing star to draw a tough assignment in Mikal Bridges, but be able to board and play-make for Brunson and Randle.
OG has hit the 5-rebound mark in four of his last five, so we like this bet to hit as his assist numbers should get a bump tonight too.
F Cam Johnson (BKN): OVER 12.5 PTS
After Cam Johnson torched the Knicks for 4 threes in their first meeting, look for the sharpshooter to put together another solid outing for a Nets team that desperately needs a win versus a “tier-one” squad.
Johnson hasn’t hit this marker in his last two outings but should be looked at as a potential playmaker by the Knicks defense as he’s dropped 16 dimes in his last three games.
With added attention to Bridges’ drives, Cam Thomas’ shooting, and Cam Johnson’s playmaking, added catch-and-shoot opportunities should be open in a game where 3s will reign king.
G Collin Sexton (UTA): OVER 29.5 PTS+REB+AST
Don’t look now, but the once-overlooked Collin Sexton is playing like a borderline All-Star in the month of January. Averaging 27.2 PPG, 5.4 APG, and 2.6 RPG in his last five, Sexton draws a plus-matchup against New Orleans who are allowing 120 PPG in their last three.
Look for Collin to get to the line at will (10 FTA twice in the last five) and fill up the stat sheet in what seems like a turning point in the season for Utah depending on a win or loss.
G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC): OVER 31.5 PTS
After Shai’s diss at Anthony Edwards a few days ago and KAT’s eventual 62-point game in a loss to Charlotte, doesn’t it seem like the stars are lining up for a career game for Shai against a Portland team allowing nearly 50% shooting per game to opponents?
Scoot, Simons, and Brogdon have no business matching up well against OKC’s superstar and with the Thunder’s next four games coming against Portland, San Antonio, New Orleans, and Detroit, look for the squad to sit atop the Western Conference by February 1st.
