FanDuel has been synonymous with daily fantasy sports for years. With all of the heavy competition in the DFS market, is FanDuel really the best? In our FanDuel DFS review, we'll dive in and see what all of the hype is about and if it's worth your time.
Whenever we review a DFS app or even a sportsbook app, we believe we should use a methodology that reflects the opinions of our users. This means that we look at a wide range of factors before making a final judgment on any app and its performance.
For the most part, we look at five key areas.
First, we like to take a look at the bonuses and promotions. These are the biggest driving factors behind any user joining a platform, so they must be up to par. We look at the value of the bonuses, how easy they are to use, and how often they appear.
If we have any bonus or promo codes for the site, we'll also share those with you.
Almost as critical as the bonuses, we also look at the gameplay. We want to ensure that the app is intuitive and user-friendly, with enough features for all players. This includes things like draft format, number of teams per game, prize structure, and other nuances.
Have you ever used a sportsbook app that was slow and clunky? We have, too! That's why we take such an in-depth look at the design of any DFS or sportsbook app. We test out multiple devices to make sure the gaming experience is smooth across them all. We also review the navigation, features, visuals, and other elements to give you our honest opinion on the app's usability.
Sure, we get our hands dirty and dig in to see what a DFS or sportsbook app is all about, but we also like to hear from the users. We read through user reviews and ratings so that we can get an even better idea of how people have experienced the platform. More often than not, other users experience something different than we do, which helps inform our review.
We couldn't end a review without talking about customer service and support. We look at the customer service team's performance, what types of inquiries they answer, their turnaround time, and how personal they are when helping out users.
We also check to ensure that there's an FAQ page and other helpful resources that can save you time with specific questions or problems. After all, we want the most comprehensive review for you to make the best decision.
Right out of the gate, FanDuel is offering new users a solid bonus. Actually, there are a couple of bonuses — one for the daily fantasy sports site and one for the FanDuel Sportsbook. So, we're going to break these two promotions out separately.
There is a FanDuel Casino promo code as well, but since we focus on sports here at Eat Watch Draft, we will stick with the DFS and online sports betting side of the house.
Current DFS Promotion: 100% Deposit Match up to $100
This is one of the best promotions in the daily fantasy sports industry. It lets you get started without having to risk your own funds. We've seen a lot of promotions that are much more restrictive, so this one really stands out.
While the promotion is just one element of our FanDuel review, it's definitely getting things off to a great start.
Current Sportsbook Promotion: Bet $5 Get $200 in Bonus Bets Win or Lose
The FanDuel sportsbook app is really something special. But what's even better is the FanDuel promo code you get to use to get this sick bonus! Of course, this won't work for playing daily fantasy sports, but it will at the online sportsbook. You can even use the same FanDuel account to get the bonus, or if you prefer, you can have a FanDuel Sportsbook account by itself.
Keep in mind that this promo code is only good in states with legal sports betting, and FanDuel offers its services.
As one of the largest daily fantasy sports sites in the US, FanDuel offers a wide range of DFS action. For just about any sport, whether it's the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, or countless other major sports, you can play a massive assortment of daily fantasy sports games.
Cash games. These are the more traditional contests offering the safest experience, including 50/50s and head-to-head contests. In 50/50 contests, the top half of the field nearly doubles their investment, while the bottom half receives nothing. Head-to-head contests are a cash game where you compete against just one player.
Guaranteed prize pools (GPPs). Also known as tournaments, these contests have a set prize pool and payout to a certain percentage of the field. The number of entrants does not affect the prize pool.
Tournaments, qualifiers, & multipliers. Tournaments involve a large number of players to win a significant prize. Qualifiers provide a chance to win entry into a bigger tournament. Multipliers allow you to multiply your entry fee if you finish at the top of the field. We're big fans of FanDuel tournaments, which can often be quite lucrative.
Beginner contests. These are designed for new players who are still familiarizing themselves with the platform and strategies.
Depending on your playing style and strategy, you can play any of these contests on the FanDuel mobile app. Of all of the tournaments, the World Fantasy Football Championship is by far the most popular. If you're a fantasy football fan, this is definitely one you should check out.
FanDuel has something for all types of daily fantasy sports players. You can find dozens and dozens of contests every day across the following sports: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, PGA Golf (PGA Tour & Korn Ferry Tour), MMA (UFC), NASCAR, and Soccer.
So, if you're looking for a full selection of daily fantasy sports leagues, FanDuel beats out the competition. DraftKings is a close second as far as selection goes.
We've downloaded and tested numerous fantasy sports apps and online sportsbooks, and we've got to say that FanDuel's app is one of the easiest to navigate. The design is pleasing to the eye, and all the features are easy to find and use.
The app also runs smoothly on both Android and iOS devices, so you don't have to worry about performance issues or slow loading times.
The only downside is that there are tons of contests, so sorting through them can be a task, but FanDuel does make it easier with their "My Games" feature. You can keep track of all the contests you've entered, making things much more straightforward.
As we mentioned, this isn't necessarily a FanDuel Sportsbook review, but while we were at it, we wanted to see how the sportsbook experience was on the app. To our delight, FanDuel had made a seamless transition to move from DFS games to sports betting. We're sure you can do the same if you want to play online casino games, but we're all about sports.
On top of the seamless app, the FanDuel site is also straightforward to use and navigate. The layout is very similar to the app's, so it's a great option if you want to play on larger screens.
You can do everything on the FanDuel website and app, including getting in on contests, checking out your FanDuel points, and depositing/withdrawing funds. And if you ever have any questions or need help, their support team is very responsive and helpful. We'll get into the customer support shortly.
As we downloaded the FanDuel mobile app from both the App Store and Play Store, it was easy to see why so many people have positive things to say about their experience. Most reviews mentioned that FanDuel made playing daily fantasy sports fun and easy.
The app has an average rating of 4.5 stars on the Play Store with a whopping 686,000+ installs. On the iOS App Store, the app has an average rating of 4.8 stars with over 1,000 reviews. Both versions have been updated in the past few months, ensuring everything runs smoothly, and players still get a great experience every time they log in to play DFS.
We also took the time to read through what other daily fantasy sports experts thought about FanDuel, and their reviews were surprisingly positive. Most spoke highly of the customer service and the wide variety of contests that are available.
These reviews, for the most part, confirmed that FanDuel is indeed one of the best daily fantasy sports sites out there.
You're logging into the FanDuel app and want to check out your fantasy points, but you encounter an error. You need to change your lineup due to an injury but can't because of this error.
Fortunately, we found that FanDuel's customer support is on point.
FanDuel offers several options to ensure users can get the help they need. One of the primary methods of reaching out to them is via email. The current first response time is approximately 12 hours, which isn't excellent but reliable.
Interestingly, and this is something we have not seen on other DFS sites, FanDuel also offers a callback service. Although the current wait time for a callback is over 48 hours, this option provides a more personal touch, allowing users to speak directly with a representative to resolve their problems. It's worth noting, however, that this service operates between the hours of 9 a.m.-8 pm EST.
FanDuel does offer live chat support, providing another avenue for instant communication. The best part is that you can engage with customer service from the app, which is a great touch.
For the most part, the FanDuel customer service team is knowledgeable and efficient. We never had any major issues, and when we did reach out, they were able to help us quickly and answer our questions. We've seen better customer support, but we've also seen much worse.
We've got to hand it to the FanDuel team. They've put together a great product that caters to casual sports fans and fantasy football enthusiasts. The mobile app is feature-rich, easy to use, and runs smoothly across devices. Plus, their customer service is always available to help you if you ever encounter any issues.
For those who haven't found a DFS home yet, FanDuel should be at the top of your list. We highly recommend them to anyone looking to get in on DFS and test their skills against some of the best players.
While you're at it, don't hesitate to take advantage of their welcome bonus. It's a great way to get started and add extra credits to your account.
For this FanDuel review, we're going to give FanDuel DFS 4.8 stars out of 5.0. While they're certainly one of the best in the industry, we have to take a slice off for the customer support issues.
