3 MLB Player Props for Friday, June 28

Happy Friday, everyone! We don’t know about you, but it feels like June is flying by. July is just around the corner, which means the MLB season is more than halfway over. At this point, we have a relatively solid handle on what teams are good, and which teams are… underwhelming expectations, in some cases.

Regardless of where your favorite team stands, fans are blessed with a massive 15-game slate tonight, making for a great evening filled with baseball! With the slate in mind, we’ve put together our favorite player props from Underdog, hoping to sweep the board to start the weekend on the right note.

Max Scherzer OVER 4.5 Strikeouts

Today is only Max Scherzer’s second start of the season, which is why his strikeout line is so low. We’re hammering the over on this line today, as we believe Scherzer is back and ready to contribute to the Texas Rangers offense in a big way.

This team is in desperate need of solid pitching from their aces, and Scherzer is poised to have a big day against the Baltimore Orioles, even though they have been one of the best offenses in baseball.

Marcus Stroman UNDER 17.5 Pitching Outs

What the heck is going on with the New York Yankees? After starting the first half of the year as one of the best teams in baseball, they have faltered significantly over the past few weeks, causing concern for the fanbase.

Their pitchers have gotten shelled recently, and with the team not being able to provide great run support, we don’t like Marcus Stroman’s chances of going deep in this game. Toronto is playing better as of late, another reason why we’re taking the under in this spot.

Jarren Duran OVER 2 Total Bases

Jarren Duran continues to be a bright spot for the Boston Red Sox. He has been an electrifying player to watch at this point in his career, and he’s not showing any signs of slowing down.

He has had at least two hits in five of his last six games, an indication of a hot streak. We’re not going to bet against him tonight, which is why we’re taking the over on his total bases line.
