Paul Skenes

  • Position: Pitcher
  • Affiliation: Pittsburgh Pirates

Paul Skenes is coming out of the gates as a force to be reckoned with. Currently one of MLB's top prospects, along with the Pittsburgh Pirates at Triple-A, Skenes has been nothing short of sensational this year.

Standing massively tall at 6'6" and weighing 235 lbs, he has already set the stage for a promising MLB debut.

His statistics are eye-popping compared to his peers, with a minuscule 0.53 ERA and 34 strikeouts across just 17 innings pitched in 2024. That's not too bad for a guy who's hanging out in AAA before heading to the big show.

His fastball, averaging right around 100 mph, tops the charts, making him the most overpowering pitcher in the minors right now. We typically don't see these numbers until they're a few years into the system.

For DFS players, Skenes is a potential goldmine of fantasy points, promising high strikeout numbers and dominant performances that could also earn the coveted complete game and shutouts. Getting him early in your lineup, upon his MLB call-up, could be a masterstroke of success.

Junior Caminero

  • Position: 3rd Base / Shortstop
  • Affiliation: Tampa Bay Rays

At just 20 years old, Junior Caminero is already making waves within the Tampa Bay Rays organization and getting eyes on him from all across the MLB. And when you look at his performances, it's easy to see why.

His stint at Triple-A with the Durham Bulls and a brief major league appearance highlight his readiness to make a permanent stop in the MLB.

Standing 6'1" and weighing 157 lbs, which is about average for the position, Caminero offers unmatched versatility, capable of playing both third base, shortstop, and potentially other positions with a bit of time, mentorship, and training.

His advanced skills were on full display during his time in Double-A with the Montgomery Biscuits, and despite a minor setback with a quad issue, his trajectory remains highly promising. That injury could come back to haunt him, but as long as he gets a total recovery, we don't see it being too much of a burden.

Caminero brings potential multi-position eligibility, which, as you probably know, is invaluable in DFS lineups. His ability to slot into different roles increases his value, making him a player to watch closely for roster flexibility and consistent performance. Everyone loves a player that can play no matter the costs. You won't want to miss out on Junior when he makes it to the big leagues.

Ethan Salas

  • Position: Catcher
  • Affiliation: San Diego Padres

Ethan Salas, a hot young prospect in the San Diego Padres' system, has shown remarkable coolness and talent at just 17 years old. That says a lot for any man behind the plate.

Competing in A+ ball with the Fort Wayne TinCaps, his experience in Major League camp was a standout, demonstrating his capability to handle higher competition. We think he'll cruise through the SD farm system in no time.

With a recent batting stint that included a single, a double, and a walk-in nine plate appearances against seasoned MiLB pitchers, Salas has shown he can hold his own.

A catcher like Salas, who can hit and manage a game from behind the plate, is a rare find for DFS lineups. His unquestionable ascent to the majors could add a valuable dimension to fantasy lineups, especially in leagues where catching depth is often shallow and decent catchers are worth their weight in gold. While he still has some time to develop as a player, we think he's going to dominate the DFS lineups in short order.

Max Clark

  • Position: Outfield
  • Affiliation: Detroit Tigers

Max Clark is a name buzzing in the Detroit Tigers' farm system and making waves all throughout MiLB. As a 19-year-old outfielder in Class A with the Lakeland Flying Tigers, Clark is developing into a five-tool player who could impact any game's dynamics.

His abilities were on full display during last month's Spring Breakout, where he excelled at Joker Marchant Stadium. He showcased not only his abilities at the plate, but in the field as well.

Clark's blend of speed, power, and a hot glove makes him an exciting prospect for DFS players. His potential to rack up the stats across the board could make him a top pick once he steps into the major league spotlight.

Keep an Eye Out for These MLB Prospects

It doesn't matter if you're committed to typical DFS or even pick 'em; keeping an eye on these four prospects could pay dividends in the coming months or even years.

Their minor league performances not only hint at their future potential but also suggest that they can bring substantial value to fantasy lineups in various stat areas.

By getting in early, perhaps even before these players become household names, DFS players can sneak in some strategic advantage, capitalizing on these young talents' breakthrough moments before their salaries go through the roof.
