Top Four MLB Player Prop Bets for Friday, May 31
One of our top MLB player props for Friday involves Miles Mikolas.

All 30 MLB teams are in action on the last day of May as the baseball season begins to earn bettors’ full attention just before the official start of summer. Friday’s schedule is highlighted by the suddenly red-hot St. Louis Cardinals – a team that is 8-2 in its last 10 outings – facing off against the Phillies in Philadelphia.

While predicting games can be an arduous task, selecting player prop bets using historical information gives bettors good data to make informed decisions. We’ll do that today as we select the top four MLB player prop bets for Friday, May 31 games.

St. Louis Cardinals’ Miles Mikolas UNDER 15.5 Outs Recorded

The Cardinals are streaking having won seven of their last eight games and 12 of their past 15 outings. St. Louis picked up their offense over the, scoring seven or more runs in six of those victories.

The Cardinals have needed to score when pitcher Miles Mikolas takes the mound. The 35-year-old pitcher has a 5.64 ERA in just 59 innings pitched.

Tonight’s opponent is Philadelphia, and the Phillies’ batters have a lifetime 0.257 batting average against Mikolas and a 0.278 on-base percentage. Expect Mikolas to last five innings before being relieved at the start of the sixth to cover this player prop bet.

New York Mets’ Starling Marte To Record A Hit (-210)

New York is mired in a 2-8 stretch over their past 10 games and has won just eight games in May. The Mets have played four extra-inning games during their past two weeks, winning just once during that stretch.

Since mid-May, no Mets’ batter has been hotter than Starling Marte. The right fielder increased his average by nearly five percent and is 4-of-7 in his past two outings.

The 35-year-old is 3-of-5 hitting against Jordan Montgomery, the starting pitcher for the Diamondbacks on Friday. Expect Marte to record at least one hit against Montgomery and cover this player prop bet.

Texas Rangers’ Jose Urena OVER 3.5 Strikeouts

The Rangers won three consecutive contests to end their six-game losing streak. Texas won both games against Arizona and avoided the series sweep against Minnesota in the process. Now, the Rangers can unload on the Miami Marlins, the NL team with the worst record this season.

After starting the season as a relief pitcher, Texas needed Jose Urena to step into a starting role in May. The 32-year-old righty obliged, turning four above-average starts for the Rangers since.

Tonight, he’ll face the Miami Marlins for the first time. Luck favors the pitcher in first-time matchups, especially against last-place teams that are 10-19 at home.

Los Angeles Dodgers Shohei Ohtani To Hit A Homerun (+250)

Although the Dodgers have the NL West’s best record and 6.5 game lead in the division, Los Angeles is a mere 5-5 in their past 10 outings. The Dodgers swept the New York Mets to right their record, getting three consecutive wins on the road before returning home to face the Rockies Friday night.

In his first season with Los Angeles, Shohei Ohtani is getting accustomed to life without pitching. The 29-year-old has been a streaky home run hitter in the NL, hitting home runs in back-to-back games on three separate occasions this year.

Wednesday night, Ohtani smacked one out of the park, meaning Ohtani is in line to homer on Friday.
