Top NBA Player Prop Picks for Friday, April 5: We're Banking on a Big Night from Brandon Miller!

We’re just 10 days away from the final regular season NBA game. With 12 games on tap, the NBA slate for Friday, April 5 is loaded with multiple games that will impact both the Eastern and Western Conference’s playoff seeding.

Which games and players should viewers watch on Friday night? While my hot streak ended Tuesday, my picks over the last two weeks have hit 70% of the time. Let’s continue tonight with four more of the best player props for Friday, April 5.

Charlotte Hornets’ Brandon Miller OVER 18.5 Points

The Magic head north Friday to face Charlotte. Orlando is currently tied with New York for the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, and potentially hosting the deciding game against the Knicks in the first-round playoff series makes tonight’s game a must-win affair.

While the Hornets’ season has been forgettable, Charlotte forward Brandon Miller has pieced together a terrific closing statement to his debut campaign. Thus far, Miller is averaging 17.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per night.

Miller has success against the Magic. In their last meeting three weeks ago, the former Alabama athlete scored 21 points in 32 minutes against Orlando in a 112-92 loss. With Miller’s lowest point total against Orlando at 18 points, expect the Charlotte forward to eclipse this player prop bet on Friday night.

Oklahoma City Thunder’s Luguentz Dort OVER 1.5 3-Pt Field Goals

Oklahoma City is still in the mix for the top seed in the Western Conference. Currently, the Thunder are one game behind Minnesota and Denver for the top spot, and all three teams have six remaining games.

Indiana is in a slightly different situation. The Pacers are one-half game better than the Miami Heat and a full game ahead of the 76ers for the sixth and final guaranteed playoff position. A win at home Friday ensures Indiana remains in the driver’s seat for that coveted spot.

Oklahoma City is a pedestrian 6-4 in their past 10 games, but guard Luguentz Dort can help the Thunder pull this game out tonight. In his previous contest against Indiana, Dort drained 3-of-6 long-range shots to score 18 points against the Pacers. Bettors should expect him to repeat that effort on Friday to successfully cover this player prop bet.

New Orleans Pelicans’ Zion Williamson UNDER 39.5 Pts + Reb + Ast

The Pelicans are locked in a tie for sixth place with the Suns as both teams are 45-31 this year. While Phoenix is on a two-game winning streak, New Orleans has lost three straight games to fall into a play-in game situation if the playoffs were held today.

Zion Williamson needs to have a big game to right the Pelican’s ascent up the rankings. In his team’s last matchup against the Spurs, Williamson scored 33 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out four assists to prop his team to a 114-113 victory over San Antonio.

Expect Williamson to have a monster showing against the Spurs Friday night, but bettors should not count on the 6’ 6” forward to replicate that last outing and cover this player combo prop bet. In two other contests this season, Williamson was held well below the 40-total combo mark needed to cover the 39.5 combo mark.

Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant UNDER 6.5 Rebounds

The team New Orleans is chasing – Phoenix – has its own set of problems tonight when the Suns host the Minnesota Timberwolves. Both teams have incentives to win the game, especially as Minnesota is currently tied atop the Western Conference standings with the Denver Nuggets.

To win this matchup, Phoenix needs Kevin Durant to have an incredible game. In his only action against Minnesota this season, Durant scored 31 points, grabbed six rebounds, and had six assists to help the Suns to a 133-115 victory over the Timberwolves in November.

Expect Durant to deliver another prolific scoring outing for Phoenix, but the Suns forward will not cover his rebound prop bet. The 6’ 9” veteran is averaging just 6.3 rebounds per night over the last week, giving bettors confidence in their selection.
