Top NBA Player Prop Picks for Friday, February 9: Will Houston Slow Down Barnes and the Raptors?

While Scottie Barnes might struggle to find playmaking opportunities against a tough Houston defense, look for Jalen Johnson and Alperen Sengun to continue to serve as key playmakers for their teams.

Check out our entire NBA player prop picks card below. Enjoy the games and good luck!

F Jalen Johnson (ATL) OVER 3.5 AST

Johnson has been on a tear recently, averaging 16.3 PPG, 5.3 APG, and 10.5 RPG in four games this month. With the 76ers down Embiid and lacking solid perimeter defenders, look for the swingman to find Young, Murray, and Bey in rhythm as Atlanta looks to get back on track with a win to try and keep pace as a Play-In team out East.

G Scottie Barnes (TOR) UNDER 34.5 PTS+REB+AST

Scottie has a tough matchup today against a Houston squad that sits inside the top ten in most defensive categories. While Barnes should continue to attack the basket against Sengun and the smaller Houston guards, assists might be tough to come by.

He’s only averaged just above 30 PTS+REB+AST this month and in a game that should sport a low over/under, take Scottie to miss this mark.

F Alperen Sengun (HOU) OVER 15.5 AST+REB

On the other side of the ball, Sengun has a chance to dominant in this one. The Raptors had a drastic changeover during the trade deadline, so one could imagine their defensive chemistry might be lacking.

Insert Alperen Sengun in the middle of the court and the Rockets have a solidified walking triple-double in this matchup. Alperen is averaging 16 AST+REB this month in three games including 21 AST+REB against Toronto exactly a week ago.

C Nikola Jokic (DEN) OVER 0.5 TD (1.25x)

Jokic has proven to have success as a rebounder and playmaker against Sacramento throughout his career. With Sabonis and the Kings clicking on offense, expect this game to become a shootout with plenty of playmaking opportunities for the frontrunner MVP.

Jokic has dropped three triple-doubles in his last five games against Sacramento, with one of the misses coming in a game where he dropped 9 rebounds and 11 assists. We like Nikola’s boosted prop here in what should be the best game of the evening.
