NFL Week 16 DFS Lineup Strategy
Detroit’s trio of Goff, Amon-Ra, and LaPorta headline our Week 16 lineup, while the X-factor of Jonathan Mingo should look to have a breakout week for the Panthers. Get the rest of our DFS strategy below. Thanks for reading and Merry Christmas!
QB Jared Goff (DET) Salary: $6,900
Goff is coming off one of the best performances of his season, tossing five touchdowns against the Broncos. We are riding with the hot hand this week to deliver another top-tier performance against a Minnesota defense that just allowed 378 yards and 27 points to the Bengals.
As the Lions look to lock up the NFC North title and home-field advantage for the postseason, Goff should be able to toss a few touchdowns to the Lions’ elite playmakers.
RB Breece Hall (NYJ) Salary: $6,100
Breece Hall finally gets a plus matchup against the Commanders. Washington’s defense allows the most YPG and PPG in the league while allowing 39.3 PPG in the last three outings, their season falling through the fingertips.
No matter who is at Quarterback for the Jets, Hall’s value as a receiver should stay relevant against a horrendous defense at home.
RB Ty Chandler (MIN) Salary: $5,600
Chandler finally had his breakout last week, with 150 total yards and a score against Cincy. With Coach O’Connell hinting that Ty could take over as the lead back moving forward with his 4.65 YPC this season, the Lions' defense should have their hands full against the speedy back in a divisional matchup that should turn into a high-scoring affair.
WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (DET) Salary: $8,200
The stack of Jared Goff and Amon-Ra should make your lineup this week after the wideout came back to form with a 7-112-1 game last week in the Lions’ rout of the Broncos. St. Brown is one of the most consistent players in the league, with only two of 11 games with under 5 catches.
With the Vikings coming off a tough defensive outing against Browning and the Bengals, this is a perfect matchup for one of the best wideouts in the league.
WR Amari Cooper (CLE) Salary: $6,400
Coop has slowly risen back to form with Joe Flacco taking over at QB, increasing his yardage in each game and hauling in a touchdown last week in the big comeback over the Bears.
With Houston 25th in yards per game through the air this season, we wouldn’t be shocked if Flacco and Cooper connect for a few big downfield plays this game.
WR Jonathan Mingo (CAR) Salary: $3,600
A preseason breakout candidate, Mingo has turned the tides on his season since the Panthers’ bye week, hitting the 5-target mark in all but one game since. Furthermore, he’ll take on a Packers defense that just allowed a huge day to Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and the Bucs’ WR core last week.
Now playing in about 93% of snaps since their Week 7 bye, look for the light-salaried Jonathan Mingo to become an X-factor for your squad.
TE Sam LaPorta (DET) Salary: $6,400
Sam LaPorta cannot go unmentioned with Goff and Amon-Ra also starting in our Week 16 DFS lineup. The breakout rookie TE has hauled in 5 TDs in the last four games while hitting the 5 target mark in all but one game this season.
In a game that should lock up their playoff positioning atop the NFC, look for LaPorta to turn in another positive outing.
FLX Demario Douglas (NE) Salary: $4,100
While there haven’t been many headlines to write about in Foxborough, they might have a stud in Demario Douglas. Before his injury, Demario turned in five straight games with four catches and has a solid 11.3 YPC rate during his rookie season.
Facing a Broncos defense that just got lit up against the Lions, look for Douglas to get back on track with a new QB at the helm in New England.
DST Cardinals Salary: $2,700
After The Bears’ epic collapse in Cleveland last week, expect morale to be low as they host the Cardinals. Gannon’s defense has fallen off over the past few games, but as the season closes, look for this unit to come together and force turnovers against Fields and the Bears, who turn the ball over a third-worst 1.7 times per game.
