It’s only one week, but the top fantasy football performers for the 2023 NFL season feature a host of names readers found atop most mock draft boards before the season started. While there are a few surprises – especially at QB – fantasy managers should be happy with the results thus far.

Top Fantasy QBs
Sure, Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert are in the top 10 after their first week. But stalwarts like Joe Burrow and Dak Prescott are nowhere near the top 20 performers this week. Two of the top five QBs on this week’s list are first-time starters, including a rookie from the 2023 draft class.

Perhaps unexpectedly, the top fantasy WRs after the first week of the 2023 NFL season are names that have been atop leaderboards for multiple seasons. Of the top 20 receivers this week, 75% of this list saw eight or more targets in their first outing, including a surprise with Los Angeles Rams rookie Puka Nacua.

Top Fantasy RBs
This list is the least surprising of the top 20 rankings after the first week of the 2023 NFL season. The biggest shock, however, is that the Los Angeles Chargers have two rushers among the top 10 rushers thus far after both Austin Ekeler and Joshua Kelley ran roughshod over the Miami Dolphins this past Sunday.
