Bills at Jets: 5 Player Prop Bets for Monday Night Football

The NFL season is underway! After the Lions shockingly defeated the Chiefs on Thursday Night Football, we turn to MNF for some prop bets that include Aaron Rodgers propelling his new-look Jets to a 1-0 start.

Or, could Josh Allen’s legs lead his Bills to a huge Week 1 win against their division rival? Stay tuned for MNF prop plays throughout the season!

QB Josh Allen (BUF) OVER 35.5 RUSH YDS

In games where Allen played all four quarters last season, he totaled fewer than 35 rushing yards in only four instances. Heading into this season, the Bills didn’t add a big-name RB in the free agency market or trade market and should allow their star QB to use his legs to gain a handful of first downs against a tough Jets secondary.

As we saw with Patrick Mahomes on Thursday Night Football, if these superstar QBs get to their 3rd progression on a key down, they are using their legs to pick up yardage. Look for Allen to dominate as the Bills' top runner in a few nights.

RB James Cook (BUF) UNDER 43.5 RUSH YDS

Cook, presumably starting at RB for Buffalo, had a solid rookie campaign where he averaged upwards of 5.7 YPC. While this is great news for dynasty and redraft owners heading into his 2nd season, it’s not good news for his Monday Night Football bettors.

Cook totaled just 21 yards on 8 carries last season against the New York Jets front line headed by Quinnen Williams. In order for James to reach this 44-yard mark, it would need to be on a home run play. Knowing the Jets defense and Robert Saleh, that won’t happen easily.

RB Dalvin Cook (NYJ) OVER 11.5 REC YDS

We turn to James’s brother Dalvin for our next prop bet. Dalvin lands with the Jets after a tough offseason where he couldn’t find a gig after leaving Minnesota after a great tenure. The explosive running back will also be a factor in the passing game with Breece Hall’s lingering injury and Rodgers’ trust in his RBs in the passing game.

Dalvin reached this mark ten times last season with Cousins and the Vikings. Against a solid Buffalo secondary and limited options for A-Rod outside of Lazard and Wilson, expect Cook to get some receiving work early on.

WR Garrett Wilson (NYJ) OVER 68.5 REC YDS

The 2nd year standout for the Jets is ready to shine with the future Hall of Fame Quarterback by his side. Wilson hit this mark eight times in 2022 with some of the worst QB play the AFC East has seen.

With Rodgers by his side and the chemistry obviously clicking between them, don’t be surprised if we see Garrett finish with a 100-yard total in his first game in this new era of Jets football.

The Bills secondary is aging and has holes due to the lack of health. In a potentially high-scoring affair, bet that Aaron’s new WR1 goes over his yard total.

QB Aaron Rodgers (NYJ) OVER 236.5 PASS YDS

While this isn’t a sign to bet on the Jets to win against Buffalo, Rodgers has a great chance to shine in his debut. I’m not buying into the Bills secondary the same way everyone has been for the past couple of seasons.

An aging group that has been beaten over and over again in the postseason, Rodgers and Hackett could carve them out for a handful of chunk plays in Week 1.

Although Aaron only hit this five times last season, an offseason rejuvenation and a boost in playmakers across the field should lift him over this mark for MNF.
