Cowboys at Giants - Pick'em Picks for Underdog & PrizePicks

The first Sunday Night Football matchup of the 2023 season is a real doozy. The NFL treated fans with several Week 1 divisional matchups, which includes this dogfight between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants.

Both teams made the playoffs last year, falling in the divisional round. This game will help one team start the year with a marked advantage in the record books, while the other will have an uphill battle for the rest of the season.

With the situation being as it currently stands, there are a lot of players who will need to step up in the clutch. We’ve identified a few player props that we love in this contest, which are all provided by PrizePicks and Underdog.

Dak Prescott OVER 237.5 Passing Yards

The jury has provided mixed reviews on Dak Prescott throughout the offseason. Some analysts believe he’s in for a monster year, while others think he’s due for another downturn.

We are going to reserve our full-season judgment for the time being, but we do think he has a good chance of hitting at least 238 passing yards in this game. Prescott achieved at least 238 passing yards in eight games last year, missing the mark in just four games.

Plus, in his lone game against the Giants last season, he put up 261 passing yards. This gives us confidence that he’ll have another big game against this team, especially since we think it’ll be a high-scoring affair.

Darren Waller OVER 4.5 Receptions

When people get a gift, a new car, or something shiny and expensive, they like to show it off. Darren Waller is the shiny new toy in the Giants’ offense.

They went out and traded for him during the offseason, another weapon to add to Daniel Jones’ disposal. Many have indicated that Waller will be a massive part of this offense, and we’re thinking that will happen right away during this matchup.

We expected his reception prop to be set at 5.5, even 6 receptions. Given how low it is, we’re smashing the over on this line of 4.5, hoping Waller balls out with his new team.

Tony Pollard OVER 18.5 Receiving Yards

After the Cowboys got rid of Ezekiel Elliott, it was a clear indication of how they felt about Tony Pollard. He has been great when given opportunities in the past, and now that he’s the lead back, we’re expecting him to thrive.

While Pollard should be efficient on the ground, we’re also anticipating that he’ll have heavy usage in the passing game as well. Whether Prescott throws him a few screen passes or if he’s used out wide, 18.5 yards isn’t a tough target to achieve.

Look for Pollard to have closer to 35 receiving yards in this game, smashing his over.
