NFL Fantasy News for Week 14

Fantasy owners are either entering the first week of their playoff run or the last week before the playoffs. Either way, the wins this week matter a little more for most teams.

Which players should fantasy managers target for their lineup during NFL Week 14? Read on as we reveal news all owners need heading into the fantasy playoffs.

Titans RB Derrick Henry Not Under Concussion Protocol

In the fourth quarter of his team’s 31-28 overtime loss to the Colts, Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry exited the game to be examined for a concussion. On Monday, HC Mike Vrabel confirmed Henry had shown no concussion symptoms and was not under the NFL’s concussion protocol.

Fantasy Impact: Owners can rely on Henry as the Titans face the Miami Dolphins Monday Night. Although Henry has had persistent injuries this season, the veteran RB has shown he’s still a valuable fantasy athlete.

Prior to his exit Sunday, Henry had 102 rushing yards and 18 receiving yards on 22 touches. And the Dolphins just surrendered 117 yards in Week 13 to the Commanders backfield, setting up an enticing matchup for Tennessee and Henry in Week 14.

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence Doesn’t Need Surgery

Jacksonville QB Trevor Lawrence suffered a high-ankle sprain in his team’s 34-31 overtime loss to Cincinnati Monday night, an injury multiple athletes have sustained this season. Fortunately, Lawrence does not need surgery to repair the issues, according to HC Doug Pederson

Fantasy Impact: When asked if Lawrence would be available for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns, Pederson would not rule out the starting signal caller. Instead, Pederson said he would use this week’s practices to make a decision about the Jaguars’ star.

Fantasy owners needing a back-up in Lawrence’s potential absence can snag Bengals QB Jake Browning. In his Monday Night debut under center, Browning completed 86.5% of his passes for 354 yards and one score. As a short-term replacement, managers can quickly scoop up Browning as he’s available in more than 70% of leagues heading into Week 14.

Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson Doubtful Sunday

Against the Los Angeles Chargers, New England lost RB Rhamondre Stevenson to an injury. Tuesday, reports suggested that Stevenson suffered a high-ankle sprain, an injury that will result in Stevenson missing multiple games for the Patriots.

Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners have rightfully discarded almost all members of the New England squad this season after their poor offensive performance. With Stevenson out for multiple weeks, fantasy managers should evaluate if back-up Ezekiel Elliott is a fit for their team.

After Stevenson’s injury, Elliott recorded 52 rushing yards on 17 carries while notching 40 receiving yards on four catches. The Patriots play Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers, an opponent that recently surrendered 130 rushing yards to the Cardinals backfield. While other potential replacement options are available, Elliott could be a good play Thursday.

Browns QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson In Play For Sunday

The Cleveland Browns are expected to announce QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson will clear the concussion protocol on Wednesday or Thursday, multiple sources reported. Thompson-Robinson has been unavailable since sustaining his concussion against Denver in Week 12.

Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners looking for a short-term QB replacement could roster DTR. The versatile athlete is both a passing and running threat, notching 299 passing yards and 41 rushing yards since Deshaun Watson’s season-ending shoulder injury in November.

The real reason owners shouldn’t bank on DTR playing is the recent addition of QB Joe Flacco. With both players potentially available for Sunday’s game against Jacksonville, HC Kevin Stefanski would not name a starter for the game. This suggests that even if DTR is ready to play, Flacco could steal the starting role again this week.

Texans WR Tank Dell Finished For 2023

Rookie Texans WR Tank Dell was officially listed on the Injured Reserve (IR) list Tuesday, most likely ending his season. Dell suffered a broken fibula against Denver in his team’s 22-17 victory Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Dell was having an incredible debut season for fantasy owners, notching 47 receptions, 709 receiving yards and seven TDs. Much of that production occurred over the past four weeks, making Dell a hot commodity heading into the fantasy playoffs.

Although no obvious replacement exists on Houston’s roster, expect Robert Woods to be the immediate beneficiary of Dell’s absence. Prior to his emergence, Woods received 40 of his 57 targets. Woods is more of a short-yardage option, however, and has only one TD this season.
