NFL Week 4 DFS Lineup for DraftKings

For DFS players, picking a strong starting lineup in Week 4 can be a challenge. Six games match up divisional leaders battling for supremacy while other games showcase teams clearly headed in the wrong direction.

This week, we’ll try our hand at DraftKings’ NFL $3.5 Million Fantasy Football Millionaire contest. In addition to a $1 Million payout, winners earn a spot in the DraftKings’ Tournament of Champions contest at the end of the year.

With our $50,000 payroll budget, we’re targeting top-tier WRs to go along with exceptional values at other positions.

QB Russell Wilson ($5,800)

While Denver is an abysmal disaster, the Broncos can’t blame Russell Wilson for their issues. Through three games, Wilson has passed for 791 yards and six TDs, including back-to-back 300-yard performances.

Wilson faces a Chicago defense that has been nearly as pitiful as Denver’s. The Bears surrendered over 300 yards in their past two outings, allowing opponent QBs to complete four TD passes without an INT.

Expect Wilson – who is listed at the 13th-highest DFS salary this week – to outperform most of the QBs ahead of him using his arm and legs against Chicago.

RBs Najee Harris ($5,500), Cam Akers ($4,900)

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris has increased his workload throughout the year, netting 19 carries for 65 yards in his last outing. Harris is also due to score, another wager bettors should explore. Against the 24th-ranked rushing defense, Harris should experience a breakout day Sunday.

Selecting Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers, meanwhile, is like a fishing trip. After trading the Los Angeles Rams for Akers’ services last week, the RB was a healthy scratch for last week’s contest against the Chargers.

With Carolina the second-worst defense in the league for stopping the run, Akers can still make his presence felt despite being Alexander Mattison’s backup.

WRs Justin Jefferson ($9,600), A.J. Brown ($7,700), Puka Nacua ($6,700)

Selecting Minnesota Viking WR Justin Jefferson is like fishing in a barrel teetering with fish. Jefferson – the highest-salaried WR in Week 4 – has 38 targets in three games, hauling in 458 yards and a TD in 2023. Jefferson faces the Panthers’ and their fourth-ranked passing defense. It’s a misleading ranking as opponents have easily run the ball on Carolina, so expect QB Kirk Cousins and Jefferson to continue their torrid start to the season this week.

Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown’s start to the year is another oddity for the 2023 NFL Season. The veteran receiver had his best game last week in the Eagles’ dismantling of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, hauling in 9-of-14 targets for 131 yards. We expect QB Jalen Hurts to rebound from his early-season funk, making Brown the beneficiary of Hurts’ comeback week.

Los Angeles Rams Puka Nacua returned to Earth after his out-of-this-world start to his NFL career. Nacua set multiple rookie records with his 25-catch, 266-yard performance in his first two games. Against Cincinnati Monday night, Nacua caught five passes for 72 yards, but the rookie has yet to find the endzone. At a $6,700 DFS salary, Nacua is a steal for his expected production.

TE Josh Oliver ($2,500)

With our budget strained from picking such big-name receivers, the remaining picks rely heavily on cheaper DFS finds. Minnesota Vikings TE Josh Oliver fits that need. Oliver will be T.J. Hockenson’s back-up, so his touches will be limited.

Despite having less opportunities than Hockenson, Oliver has made the most of his playing time. The Vikings TE has caught seven of his eight targets for 49 yards and one TD. Averaging three targets a game in Minnesota’s pass-happy offense is worth a risk to build a successful DFS lineup.

FLEX Marvin Mims Jr. ($3,900)

Have we mentioned how bad the Chicago Bears are this season? Denver will look to exploit the Bears’ weaknesses, including the ability to cover the deep pass. Marvin Mims Jr. fits that mold as the speedy WR has caught only seven passes this year.

His average, however, is 27.9 yards per catch. Expect Wilson to target Mims Jr between 3-5 times against Chicago, potentially netting Mims a TD to go along with a couple of long catches.

DEF Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($3,300)

This is a solid DFS find as New Orleans QB Derek Carr is likely out for Week 4. With Jameis Winston stepping in to fill the QB role, the Saints’ offense will be extremely unreliable.

Even though Alvin Kamara is returning this week after a three-game suspension, expect Tampa Bay to slow down New Orleans’ offense and perhaps intercept Winston multiple times.
