Our Favorite Player Props for Giants at 49ers

Heading into Week 3 of Thursday Night Football, the San Francisco 49ers have cruised their way to 2-0, while the New York Giants have battled to sit at 1-1.

The Giants' defense has been horrendous against the run, so expect McCaffrey and Deebo to hit the over on their rushing props, while the Giants will struggle to play from behind in a game where Vegas has them as 10-point underdogs.

QB Daniel Jones (NYG) OVER 20 COMP

The San Francisco 49ers will win this ball game. With Saquon Barkley injured, the lack of star power on the outside, combined with the Giants' lack of ability to play from behind, it’s a recipe for disaster.

However, Daniel Jones has a great chance to complete more than 20 passes in this game. Last season, his numbers ended in the 17-22 range a handful of times, but in losses, he averaged just north of 22.1 completions per game compared to 17.67 completions per game in New York wins.

San Francisco just played two outstanding games on both sides of the football and still allowed 34 completions to Kenny Pickett and 31 to Matthew Stafford last week. While we aren’t buying a Giants win, we are buying Jones to complete a handful of short passes to get him over the hump.

TE Darren Waller (NYG) UNDER 44.5 REC YDS

The 49ers have allowed just 14 yards in two games to starting Tight Ends Tyler Higbee and Pat Freuirmuth. While you can convince me that Waller means more to this offense than the two previous TEs mentioned, Higbee and ‘Muth are still essential receivers in their respective offenses.

They were held in check by a San Francisco defense that can play both vertically and horizontally against the position using Fred Warner as their killer in the middle of the field.

While Darren might see added receptions without Barkley in the backfield, bet the under on his yardage total as this defense doesn’t compare to what New York faced last week in Glendale.

QB Brock Purdy (SF) UNDER 28.5 PASS ATT

Purdy has only hit this mark three times in his regular-season career. It is common knowledge that Kyle Shanahan does not want Purdy throwing the ball if he doesn’t need to, and will use McCaffrey, Deebo, Aiyuk, Mitchell, and others in the zone run scheme before letting Purdy head into the 30-attempt mark.

In a game that should be slow-paced with a boost in rushing attempts, let’s take Brock’s “under” as San Francisco could easily be pulling the 2nd year QB in the 4th quarter.

Christian McCaffrey (SF) OVER 79.5 RUSH YDS

Dating back to last season, McCaffrey has gone for over 80 yards in the last four games where he plays 80% or more of snaps. While we might stray away from his receiving totals, his rushing props look fantastic with a positive game script and a Giants defense that has allowed an average of 136.5 rush yards per game in 2023.

With New York’s rush defense in the bottom tier last season and this season, expect CMC to put together another monster game on the ground.

Deebo Samuel (SF) OVER 14.5 RUSH YDS

Again, the Giants defense is prone to allow run-heavy teams to dominate them. We saw this against Dallas and then again with Arizona, as James Conner went for 106 rush yards.

As the 9ers try to preserve McCaffrey throughout the game, Samuel should pick up some carries as Shanahan seemingly would rather hand it to him than Elijah Mitchell. Deebo averages 18.3 yards on 2.75 carries in Wins and 10 yards on 1.8 carries per game in losses.

San Francisco sits around 10-point favorites today, so it might be smart to take a 9ers win and Deebo to run through this Giants defense.
