Tee Higgins (40.10 Fantasy Points)
Tee Higgins reminded everyone why he’s one of the most dangerous wideouts in the league despite sharing the field with Ja’Marr Chase.
Facing the Denver Broncos, Higgins hauled in a whopping 11 receptions for 131 yards and even 3 TDs. This included the game-winning TD in overtime. We weren’t expecting that, but if you had him on your roster, you surely welcomed it.
Every one of those TDs came courtesy of Joe Burrow, cementing their connection as one of the most potent in the league. More on him in just a moment, but Burrow is looking hot right now too.
Fantasy managers who added Higgins to their lineups likely secured playoff wins this week, or, in the case of DFS, dominated the rest of the field.
His performance not only saved the Bengals' playoff hopes but also made him the highest-scoring fantasy player of Week 17 and it wasn’t even close. With Ja'Marr Chase setting franchise records for receptions, opposing defenses won’t be able to double-cover Higgins as consistently as they’d like. If he stays this hot, and we don’t see why he wouldn’t, he’s a must-start for the rest of the regular season. Of course, once we’re into the playoffs, this could change depending on the defense.
Joe Burrow (36.98 Fantasy Points)
Speaking of Burrow, his 412-yard, 3-touchdown game against the surging Broncos made sure the Bengals stayed alive in their playoff push. They’re not in the clear yet, but with his arm, they’re getting close.
He also added a 25-yard rushing touchdown which simply padded his stats and fantasy output. It’s not often you see a QB and his receiver dominate the same week, but this is a perfect example of why stacking is a good strategy. Burrow’s ability to spread the ball, especially in crunch time, put fantasy managers that had him rostered in a great spot.
Burrow’s consistency is what sets him apart from the rest of the QB field.
This game marked another in a string of performances where he’s put up huge numbers. His overtime heroics also made sure the Bengals walked away victorious, and if you’ve got Burrow as your QB, there’s no question he’s a lock for your lineup. We don’t expect him to slow down in the final week of the season.
Malik Nabers (36.10 Fantasy Points)
The Giants finally broke a 10-game losing streak, and a big part of it was Malik Nabers who played a massive role.
The rookie sensation posted seven receptions for a mesmerizing 171 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Colts. This performance meant he officially surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for his debut season. This is a rookie you’re going to want to keep your eye on for future seasons.
Nabers showed off his game-breaking ability, torching the Colts’ secondary on multiple deep routes. He was simply unstoppable.
Fantasy managers who invested in Nabers or snagged him off waivers earlier in the season are reaping the rewards of this pick. His chemistry with Drew Lock is undeniable. To top that off, the Giants' offense is leaning on him as their go-to playmaker when they need explosive plays.
With a decent schedule ahead for Week 18, Nabers could carry teams to a fantasy championship.
Baker Mayfield (34.56 Fantasy Points)
Baker Mayfield played nearly flawless football as the Buccaneers dismantled the Panthers. A few years into his career, we weren’t sure we would be having this conversation, but then again, here we are.
He completed an astonishing 27 of 32 passes for 359 yards and 5 touchdowns. This marvelous performance made sure Carolina never had a chance. With weapons like Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan at his disposal, Mayfield made quick work of the Panthers' secondary and never looked back.
Mayfield has been up and down all year, but this performance will have fantasy managers reconsidering him as a streaming option. If you’re looking for a good QB2 in some DFS contests, he’s not a bad choice.
Tampa Bay remains in the hunt for the NFC South title, so we’re expecting Mayfield to keep playing at a high level.
If you’re desperate for a quarterback, he’s worth a look. His salary should be sitting at a reasonable value next week as well.
Drew Lock (34.36 Fantasy Points)
Drew Lock put on a clinice as he matched a career-high by throwing for 309 yards, 4 touchdowns, and a rushing score in the Giants’ long-awaited win.
Lock didn’t just find Nabers as it might appar. Instead, he spread the ball around, keeping the Colts’ defense off-balance all game which likely contributed to Nabers racking up the numbers as well. With his dual-threat ability, Lock was the complete package this week.
While Lock’s fantasy value has been inconsistent this year, his connection with Nabers and a rejuvenated offense make him a nice option moving forward.
If you’re in a deep league or dealing with injuries in the QB spot, Lock could be worth a flyer in the week.
