Top 5 Fantasy Point Winners in Week 2 of the NFL 2024 Season

Week 2 of the NFL 2024 season saw several monster performances that had fantasy owners buzzing. From explosive running backs to receivers making game-changing catches, the week did not disappoint.

Below are the top five players who delivered the highest fantasy points in Week 2, making them the must-have players in any fantasy football league.

1. Alvin Kamara (44.00 Fantasy Points)

Alvin Kamara was an absolute beast in Week 2 and dominated the FP throughout the league — by a long shot.

Facing the Dallas Cowboys, Kamara put up a massive 44.00 fantasy points, thanks to an incredible performance on the ground. Kamara rushed 20 times for 115 yards, but what really made the difference were his three rushing touchdowns.

Those touchdowns not only put New Orleans in control of the game but also gave fantasy owners a massive boost they needed to destroy their opponents.

What made this performance special wasn’t just the numbers, but the way Kamara carried the offense. His ability to find gaps in the Dallas defense and finish drives made him the highest fantasy point scorer of the week by a good margin.

For those who had Kamara on their roster, it was a dream week.

2. De'Von Achane (29.50 Fantasy Points)

De'Von Achane continues to show why the Miami Dolphins have high hopes for one of the best rookie running backs in the league.

In a tough matchup against the Buffalo Bills, Achane managed to put up 29.50 fantasy points, making him the second-highest fantasy scorer of the week. He rushed for 96 yards on just seven attempts, showing that he can get more yards per carry than anyone else on the field. That’s just pure efficiency. On top of that, his one touchdown on the ground added a good boost to his FP.

But Achane wasn’t done there. He also contributed as a receiver, which is no surprise. He caught 6 passes for 69 yards. His versatility made him a dangerous weapon for Miami. They couldn’t control him. His ability to make plays both in the air and on the ground left the Bills’ defense scrambling.

While Achane’s touches were limited compared to someone like Kamara, his explosiveness more than made up for it. Fantasy owners who took a chance on him got everything they wanted and some.

3. Marvin Harrison Jr. (29.00 Fantasy Points)

Marvin Harrison Jr. made a statement in Week 2. He secured 29.00 fantasy points against the Los Angeles Rams, which by anyone’s standards, is no easy task.

Harrison was the go-to receiver for Arizona, playing 90% of the offensive snaps — an impressive workload, especially for the rookie, that paid off in a big way.

Harrison caught 4 passes for 130 yards, including one touchdown. His ability to stretch the field with deep routes and his precise route-running allowed him to make big plays when the Cardinals needed them most.

He was responsible for some huge chunks of yardage that kept drives alive and put Arizona in scoring position multiple times. We think Murray has found his top target.

This kind of performance shows why Harrison is seen as one of the most promising young wide receivers in the NFL.

With such a high snap count and his knack for making explosive plays, Harrison is a player fantasy owners should keep an eye on as the season progresses. He and Murray aren’t going to slow down anytime soon.

4. DK Metcalf (28.90 Fantasy Points)

DK Metcalf delivered a vintage performance in Week 2, racking up 28.90 fantasy points in Seattle’s game against the New England Patriots.

Metcalf’s biggest moment came when he hauled in a 56-yard touchdown pass from Geno Smith. That touchdown marked Metcalf’s 17th career TD on a go route, tying him for third-most in the NFL over that span. Sure, he’s a veteran in the league, but he’s already throwing up numbers that hint at this being his best season yet.

In total, Metcalf caught 10 passes for 129 yards and that one touchdown, giving him a rock-solid performance for fantasy owners that had him activated in their lineup.

His ability to beat defenders deep has always been his strength, and he put that on full display against the Patriots’ secondary.

With this performance, Metcalf reminded everyone that he is still one of the most dangerous receivers in the league. He might not have had the same volume of touchdowns as Kamara, but his yardage and long TD were enough to make him one of the top fantasy point producers in Week 2.

5. Malik Nabers (28.70 Fantasy Points)

Malik Nabers is another wide receiver who had a huge Week 2. He earned 28.70 fantasy points against the Washington Commanders. Nabers showed off his versatility, catching 10 passes for 127 yards and one touchdown. His ability to find space in the defense and his chemistry with Daniel Jones was evident all game long and we don’t see that slowing down.

One interesting stat about Nabers’ performance is that he traveled a total of 172 yards in pre-snap motion. That was the sixth most by any player in Week 2, and it highlights just how much the Giants were using him in different formations to create mismatches. He was an absolute nightmare for Washington’s defense to contain.

Nabers might not be the most well-known fantasy option yet, but after this performance, fantasy owners should be paying attention. At $5,900 this past week, he’s an absolute steal. However, we do think after this week’s performance his salary will get a modest bump going into Week 3.

Honorable Mention — Kyler Murray (28.54 Fantasy Points)

Kyler Murray came close to making the top 5, putting up 28.54 fantasy points in Arizona’s game against the Rams. Murray threw for 266 yards and 3 touchdowns, while also adding 59 rushing yards. His dual-threat ability was on full display, as he was able to move the ball both through the air and on the ground.

While he didn’t quite crack the top five, Murray’s performance was still impressive and a reminder that he’s one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the league. He may not have had the monster game like Kamara or the big-play heroics of Metcalf, but his balanced performance made him a valuable fantasy option in Week 2.

There’s a good chance that he’s not available as he’s one of the top QBs, but every once in a while we like to highlight what the QBs are doing around the league as well.

Prep That Fantasy Lineup for Week 3!

Week 2 of the NFL 2024 season gave us some standout performances that will have fantasy owners rethinking their lineups moving forward into Week 3 and beyond.

Alvin Kamara was the undeniable fantasy MVP of the week, but strong showings from players like De'Von Achane, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Malik Nabers showed that big plays can come from anyone on any given Sunday.

These top performers all have the potential to keep producing at a high level, so keep them on your radar as the season continues.
