This series showcases two powerhouse teams clashing it out on the ice and features standout players who can significantly impact your DFS lineups and pick'ems.

While the pre-game over/unders aren't out for this series yet, that doesn't mean we don't have an opinion on who's going to dominate this round between the Stars and Avs.

Here are four players who are all set to be game-changers in this series.

Wyatt Johnston: The Rising Star

At just 20 years old, Wyatt Johnston has quickly become the centerpiece for the Dallas Stars' offense.

His performance in the first round of the playoffs against the Golden Knights was nothing shy of extraordinary (especially against the reigning champs), putting together seven points in seven games! That's a hot ticket and we're confident he'll keep it flowing moving into the next round.

Known for his clutch performances when the shots mean the most, Johnston's ability to step up in critical moments makes him a top pick for just about any DFS situation.

His combination of skill and poise under pressure will be crucial as the Stars face one of the best in the NHL. With his knack for scoring and assisting, expect Johnston to be a central figure in this series. We're thinking he's going to be upward of +9 on this series, so watch him close!

Nathan MacKinnon: A Consistent Threat

Nathan MacKinnon remains a pillar of strength for the Colorado Avalanche. That's an easy carryover from the regular season. Despite a quieter goal tally in the first round, his overall contribution of nine points ties him for the team lead.

MacKinnon's speed and epically-smooth puck-handling skills make him a perpetual threat on the ice, totally capable of breaking open any game with his offense. This isn't to say the solid Stars defense can't put a lot of pressure on him, but they're in for a fight.

For DFS enthusiasts and sports bettors looking to make some moves with prop-picks, MacKinnon is a must-watch player. His high ceiling can translate into significant FP throughout the series, especially given his history of performing well under playoff pressure. And, as you're most likely aware, there's no doubt that the Stars will give him that pressure.

Jake Oettinger: The Defensive Wall

It goes without saying that goalies play a pivotal role in the playoffs, and Jake Oettinger of the Dallas Stars is no exception.

With a solid performance in the first round against Vegas, where he posted a 1.95 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage (wow, just wow), Oettinger proved his mettle and is quickly being looked at as one of the greats.

His ability to maintain composure and deliver top-tier goaltending provides the Stars with the backbone they need to succeed against high-scoring teams like the Avalanche. If the Dallas D doesn't shut down MacKinnon, then surely Oettinger is the man to do it.

Oettinger's performance will be essential in determining the outcome of the series, making him a key player for anyone involved in pick 'em style bets or DFS focused on goaltender stats. Passing on a 1.95 GAA is a tough pill to swallow.  Don't sleep on this goaltender.

Artturi Lehkonen: The Playoff Performer

Artturi Lehkonen has a reputation for stepping up in the playoffs, and this year has been no different. Scoring in all five games against the Winnipeg Jets in the first round, Lehkonen has been one of the biggest parts of the Avalanche's success (not just in the playoffs but the regular season as well).

His consistent scoring makes him a reliable choice for fantasy points, especially in pivotal playoff games where every point counts.

Lehkonen's presence in the top power-play unit alongside other high-scoring players such as MacKinnon, increases his chances of accumulating massive FP, making him a both a tactical and strategic pick for those looking to capitalize on player performances. To put it bluntly, we think Lehkonen will be real close to matching his numbers against the jets.

Strategic Choices for Fantasy and Pick'Ems

As the series between the Dallas Stars and the Colorado Avalanche unfolds in the coming days, these four players will stand out as pivotal figures due to their abilities and recent performances in round 1.

Whether you're involved in DFS or pick 'em-style games based on the outcomes of playoff games, focusing on players like Wyatt Johnston, Nathan MacKinnon, Jake Oettinger, and Artturi Lehkonen can provide valuable insights and advantages. Even if they don't perform at their peak during any given game, it's still better than most players on the same sheet of ice.

Their contributions on the ice will not only influence the direction of the series but also have a significant impact on DFS and betting pools.

Watch closely as these players battle it out in what we believe will be an exciting and closely contested series.
