Our Top 5 Picks for NFL Week 15 Underdog Pick'em Contests
As we move towards the final stretch of the season, look for a vintage Cooper Kupp and Amari Cooper to shine while Sam LaPorta is a rookie that should get back on track by finding the end zone this week.
RB Joe Mixon (CIN) - Over 3.0 REC
Mixon has come alive as a receiver since the Browning takeover in Cincy, hauling in 16 receptions for 170 yards over the past four games. With Minnesota’s defense focusing on stopping Chase and Higgins downfield, Mixon’s target share should get a bump up this game as Browning looks to simply keep control of the ball by short gains. This is a perfect matchup for Mixon to have a day as both a runner and receiver.
WR Michael Pittman Jr. (IND) - Over 7.0 REC
Speaking of a positive matchup, Pittsburgh ranks in the bottom half of the NFL in yards allowed per contest and has been prone to big games from offensive playmakers in the last few outings. As for the Colts’ offense, they sit in the top 10 in PPG and have shown promise of putting up 30 points on any given day. Pittman has been a focal point for Minshew and co. hitting the 8-reception mark in each of the last six games. Against a Steelers defense that just allowed a big game to Bailey Zapee, expect MPJ to ball out once again.
TE Sam LaPorta (DET) - Over 0.5 TDS (1.5x)
Our Underdog boosted bet of the week is Sam LaPorta to get back on track and score a touchdown for the Lions against the Broncos. The rookie TE has dominated in every advanced stat category at his position. Top 3 in TDs, QBR per target, and target quality rating are just a few. In what could become a shootout, bank on LaPorta who has scored six TDs this season to produce another fantastic game.
WR Amari Cooper (CLE) - Over 49.5 REC YDS
Cooper saw 14 targets in his first full game with Joe Flacco quarterbacking the Browns. In game 2, expect that number to stay the same against the Bears, who have been more dominant since Fields’ return than many have expected. Chicago has struggled away from home, allowing a near-worst 269 YPG through the air in those matchups. Expect Flacco to find Cooper in one-on-one matchups more than DTR could in his limited run.
WR Cooper Kupp (LAR) - Over 65.5 REC YDS
Lastly, Cooper Kupp makes our list as a “must-bet”. The Rams take on a Washington defense allowing the most pass yards per game and most PPG. While the Commanders are trending in the completely wrong direction, the Rams have scored 34.7 PPG in their last three outings throwing for 10 TDs in those high-scoring affairs. In the best matchup you could ask for, look for a vintage Kupp in Week 15.
