TNF: Our Best Underdog Prop Picks for Seahawks at Cowboys
The struggling 6-5 Seahawks head into Dallas to face the 8-3 Cowboys, who are 5-0 at home this campaign. While fading all of Seattle’s playmakers, look for Tony Pollard and Brandin Cooks to make big splashes in another great matchup for the two key Cowboy playmakers.
WR DK Metcalf (SEA) UNDER 55.5 REC YDS
It’s been such an odd season for Seattle, and that has translated into Metcalf’s performances. The physical wideout has hit the 75-yard mark just four times, the 5-catch mark just three times, and is on pace to score the least TDs in a season of his career.
After Seattle’s blowout loss and DK’s disappointing 3-catch, 32-yard performance against the NFC juggernaut 49ers, the road doesn’t get any easier. Metcalf will face up against a Cowboys defense allowing just 167.2 YPG through the air and with Seattle’s shaky offensive line, expect Dallas to come after Geno early.
With Smith’s numbers and abilities faltering post-bye week, fade the 6-5 ‘Hawks and their receiving trio in another difficult matchup.
QB Geno Smith (SEA) UNDER 230.5 PASS YDS
Sticking with the Seattle fade, Dallas has allowed just 135 YPG through the air in their last three matchups against DeVito, Young, and Howell. While these aren’t the premier QB faces in the league, Seattle’s confidence is shaken with a tight loss to the Rams in Week 11.
That was followed by a 13-31 defeat at the hands of San Francisco. With Dallas, San Francisco, and Philly on tap for the next three weeks, start to fade Smith and this offense that has struggled to find answers all season.
RB Tony Pollard (DAL) OVER 67.5 RUSH YDS
Let’s move to the “overs”, where Tony Pollard leads the way for Dallas, rushing for 70 yards or more four times this season. While only hitting this mark once since their bye week, Pollard should continue to see around 70% of the snaps as Dallas attempts to push for the NFC East title or lock up the first Wild Card spot.
Seattle is allowing 117 rush YPG and 128 YPG in away matchups. With Pollard averaging over 4 YPC for the 5th straight season, expect him to torch this Seattle defensive front and hit the 70-yard mark once again.
WR Brandin Cooks (DAL) OVER 0.5 TDS (1.5x)
Our Underdog boosted prop for Thursday night is Brandin Cooks to haul in a touchdown. After a slow start to the season, Dak has found Cooks for four touchdowns in the last six games, with the veteran wideout’s two best performances with the Cowboys coming in Weeks 10 & 12.
With the Seahawks allowing 27.75 PPG in their last four and Lamb as the primary focus of concern for the defense, Cooks should have plenty of red zone opportunities to find the end zone once again.
