Week 7 of the NFL season saw running backs dominate the fantasy football leaderboards with explosive performances. From Jahmyr Gibbs' breakout game to Saquon Barkley's revenge showcase, these players carried their teams and fantasy rosters to victory.

Week 7 of the NFL season brought us some incredible performances. This is especially true from the running backs, who dominated the top five fantasy point leaders.
Several big names lived up to expectations, as they do, while a couple of others made strong comebacks. Whether it was through explosive rushing plays, dual-threat versatility, or pure workhorse performances, these players carried their teams to victory while lighting up the fantasy scoreboards for fantasy managers around the world.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Jahmyr Gibbs | 116 | 2 | 4 | 44 | 0 | 32.00 |
| 2 | Saquon Barkley | 176 | 1 | 2 | 11 | 0 | 26.70 |
| 3 | Joe Mixon | 115 | 2 | 2 | 9 | 0 | 26.40 |
| 4 | Breece Hall | 38 | 1 | 6 | 103 | 0 | 26.10 |
| 5 | Javonte Williams | 88 | 2 | 3 | 23 | 0 | 26.10 |
Jahmyr Gibbs (32.00 Fantasy Points)
Jahmyr Gibbs had one heck of a game against the Vikings. He scored 32 fantasy points with his most impressive performance of the season so far. The Lions leaned on him heavily in both the rushing and receiving game, and the second-year back did not disappoint in notching the W.
Gibbs rushed 15 times for 116 yards and punched in two touchdowns. One for 45 yards and another for eight. That’s the kind of explosion fantasy managers have been waiting for from Gibbs. And just when you think he’s done, Gibbs added 44 yards on four receptions, which simply put an exclamation point on his numbers for the day.
Gibbs has had his share of ups and downs this season, but this performance solidifies his potential as a weekly starter.
We think fantasy managers will be thrilled with his ability to rack up points in both the run and pass game. With David Montgomery nursing a knee injury, Gibbs' workload is only increasing, and that’s fantastic news for anyone who has him on their roster. Keep an eye on Montgomery’s return as that will undoubtedly affect Gibbs’ targets.
Looking ahead, if Montgomery remains sidelined, Gibbs could continue to produce elite numbers. Expect his usage to remain high as the Lions push toward a playoff berth.
Saquon Barkley (26.70 Fantasy Points)
Saquon Barkley torched his former team in a revenge game we were all looking forward to.
After years of contract negotiations and eventually moving on to the Eagles, Barkley returned to face the Giants and put on a show. The veteran running back put up 176 rushing yards on 17 carries, adding a touchdown in the Eagles’ commanding 28-3 win. He basically made the statement that you get what you pay for.
Barkley’s 176 yards on the ground were his most since 2019. This reminds everyone that he’s still got that game-changing ability. Fantasy managers who held onto him or traded for him were rewarded with a whopping 26.70 fantasy points, and it’s safe to say that Barkley is back. Think he’s a potential MVP candidate? We do.
With five games this season where he's reached triple-digit scrimmage yards, Barkley’s role in the Eagles’ offense is firmly established.
He’ll look to keep his momentum going into Week 8 against the Bengals, where we expect another big performance. If you’ve got Barkley on your team, you’re feeling confident heading into the second half of the season.
Joe Mixon (26.40 Fantasy Points)
Joe Mixon had to carry the Texans’ offense in their close loss to the Packers.
With C.J. Stroud struggling to move the ball through the air, Mixon stepped up and took control of the game on the ground. He rushed 25 times for 115 yards and scored two touchdowns. He also added two receptions for nine yards, but the real fantasy value came from his workhorse performance on the ground.
Mixon found the end zone twice in the second quarter. One of those touchdowns came after a 32-yard burst that set up a goal-line score. His 26.40 fantasy points were a season-high for the veteran back, and fantasy owners who stuck with Mixon through injuries and inconsistency were finally rewarded for their patience and hopefulness.
Next up for Mixon is a juicy matchup against the Colts. That is a team he shredded for 159 rushing yards back in Week 1. If you’ve got Mixon, he’s a must-start moving forward, especially with the Texans relying more on their ground game to offset Stroud’s struggles.
Breece Hall (26.10 Fantasy Points)
Breece Hall put together a pretty decent performance in the Jets’ 37-15 loss to the Steelers, tallying 26.10 fantasy points.
While Hall only rushed for 38 yards on 12 carries, he made up for it with six catches for an insane 103 receiving yards. The RB led the team in receiving yards. His 57-yard catch-and-run nearly went for a touchdown, but he was brought down barely short of the goal line. We thought he was going to bring in 6 more FP on that run.
Hall's fantasy managers got a boost from his 13-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter, adding some much-needed fantasy points from the ground game.
The key with Hall is his involvement in the passing game. This is what sets him apart from the rest, especially with the Jets' offensive line struggling to create running lanes.
With defenses focusing on the Jets’ new wide receiver, Davante Adams, Hall is getting plenty of opportunities to shine.
If he continues to be a focal point in the passing game with Adams pulling wideouts away, he’ll keep producing solid fantasy numbers. His efficiency might not be there on the ground, but he’s proving to be a reliable dual-threat option for fantasy managers.
Javonte Williams (26.10 Fantasy Points)
Javonte Williams finally delivered the breakout game his fantasy managers had been waiting for.
In the Broncos’ 33-10 win over the Saints, Williams rushed 14 times for 88 yards and two touchdowns. He also chipped in three catches for 23 yards, extending his streak of games with multiple receptions to six. He might not be as dual-threat as some of the others, but he’s getting there.
Williams’ touchdowns came on rushes of eight and five yards, giving him his first two scores of the season.
After a rough start to the year, where he only managed 52 rushing yards in the first three games combined, Williams is starting to find his rhythm and the Broncos are noticing. He’s now averaging 5.1 yards per carry over the past four games, and this week’s 26.10 fantasy points were a season-best. At the very least, it landed him on our top 5 FP winners of the week.
With Denver committed to the run and their offense starting to show signs of life, Williams’ stock is trending in the right direction. He’s got a great chance to keep rolling with a good matchup against the Panthers in Week 8. If you’ve been holding onto him, now’s the time to enjoy the payoff.
