Top 5 Fantasy Point Winners in Week 5 of the NFL 2024 Season
Week 5 of the NFL 2024 season saw some of the league's biggest stars dominate the fantasy scoreboard. From Ja'Marr Chase's unstoppable performance to Kirk Cousins' franchise-record day, these top 5 players left their fantasy owners celebrating huge wins.

Week 5 of the NFL season featured some explosive performances that left fantasy owners either celebrating or scrambling — of course, depending on what side of the ball you were on. What really stands out in this week’s top 5 is the power of stacking. You know, when you pick players from the same team you can gobble up FP twice on a single play. You’ll see a couple of instances with these players.
These five players racked up the most fantasy points this week, delivering game-changing stats and redefining their seasons. You’ll want to keep an eye on some of these for the rest of the season if you haven’t already.
Ja'Marr Chase (41.30 Fantasy Points)
Ja'Marr Chase was simply unstoppable in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens.
He hauled in 10 receptions for an incredible 193 yards and two touchdowns.
Fantasy owners who stuck with Chase, despite the Bengals' early-season struggles, were handsomely rewarded. His 41.30 fantasy points led all players this week, showing just how elite his route-running and ability to dominate opposing secondaries.
Chase’s fantasy managers can finally breathe easy after a sluggish start to the season.
His massive yardage and multiple scores suggest that he’s back to being the premier WR1 many expected heading into the season.
Chase’s 63-yard touchdown catch showed off his chemistry with Joe Burrow, and Cincinnati is starting to find a groove offensively. If they can maintain this momentum, Chase should remain a top option in all fantasy formats moving forward.
If you’re in a league where Chase is somehow available in a trade (we guarantee he’s going quick right now), this might be your last chance to get him. His 41.30 fantasy point explosion is just a taste of what’s to come as the Bengals’ offense regains its potency.
Kirk Cousins (34.36 Fantasy Points)
Kirk Cousins turned back the clock with a performance for the ages in the Atlanta Falcons’ thrilling 36-30 overtime win over Tampa Bay.
Cousins posted a franchise-record and eye-popping 509 passing yards and added four touchdowns, including a game-winning 45-yard strike in overtime.
His one interception late in the game didn’t derail what was otherwise a nearly flawless outing. Well, maybe not quite that as he only posted a 114.8 QB rating. But you get the point.
Cousins’ 34.36 fantasy points were a season-high, and it came at a time when fantasy managers were starting to question his consistency. We still question that, but it’s more on the upside this time around.
For those who stuck with him, this performance was a huge payoff. Cousins' ability to spread the ball around, particularly with Drake London and Darnell Mooney both topping 100 receiving yards, shows that this Falcons offense can support multiple high-end fantasy options.
While Cousins may not deliver 500-yard games every week, his efficiency and ability to thrive in big moments have made him a reliable fantasy starter you might not want to overlook. With the Falcons' offense rolling, fantasy managers can confidently start Cousins as a QB1 in favorable matchups moving forward.
Joe Burrow (33.78 Fantasy Points)
Joe Burrow may have come up short in the win column, but his fantasy owners are anything but disappointed after his massive Week 5 performance. Remember, team wins don’t necessarily equal fantasy wins.
Burrow threw for 392 yards and a career-high five touchdowns, putting up 33.78 fantasy points despite Cincinnati’s 41-38 overtime loss to Baltimore.
What stood out most about Burrow’s game was his 76.9% completion rate and his ability to make key throws under pressure. Whether it was a 63-yard bomb to Ja’Marr Chase or a perfectly placed screen pass for a score, Burrow was in complete control of the Bengals' high-octane offense.
His only blemish was a late interception, but with five touchdowns already on the board, Burrow's fantasy output was nothing short of elite.
If you’ve been patiently waiting for Burrow to get back to his dominant form, Week 5 was obviously your validation.
Burrow is once again proving why he’s considered one of the top fantasy quarterbacks, and with Chase and company performing at their peak, Burrow’s ceiling remains sky-high.
Lamar Jackson (33.42 Fantasy Points)
Lamar Jackson was instrumental in the Ravens' dramatic 41-38 overtime victory against the Bengals. He contributed both through the air and on the ground. He threw for 348 yards and four touchdowns, adding 55 rushing yards and another score on the ground, totaling 33.42 fantasy points.
Jackson’s ability to make plays under duress was on full display in this game which included his scrambling recovery of a fumbled snap, followed by a touchdown pass to tight end Isaiah Likely.
That kind of improvisation is why Jackson remains one of the top dual-threat QBs in fantasy football. In a game where both teams seemed to score at will, Jackson's clutch playmaking kept Baltimore in the mix and eventually led them to a victory.
For fantasy owners, Jackson continues to deliver elite production.
His rushing ability adds a dimension most quarterbacks can’t provide, making him a must-start in all formats. As long as Jackson stays healthy, and we think he will, his combination of passing and rushing will keep him among the top fantasy point producers week in and week out.
Drake London (33.40 Fantasy Points)
Drake London had a breakout game in the Falcons’ overtime win against Tampa Bay. He caught 12 of 13 targets for 154 yards and a touchdown.
His touchdown came on an 18-yard catch-and-run, where London showed off his elusiveness and physicality. His 33.40 fantasy points marked his highest total of the season, and with Cousins at the helm, it’s clear that London will be a focal point of Atlanta’s passing attack moving forward.
London made several key plays throughout the game, including an 18-yard reception in overtime that helped set up Cousins’ game-winning touchdown pass.
Even though London briefly left the game with a chest injury, it didn’t appear to be serious, as he was seen celebrating in the locker room afterward. You’ll want to keep an eye on that, but we don’t think it’ll be a big deal.
With his target share increasing and his chemistry with Cousins improving, London is poised to be a fantasy asset for the rest of the season.
Fantasy managers who have been waiting for London to break out should feel confident starting him as a WR2 with WR1 upside moving forward.
